Hello lovelies

My mum, or Bear as she's known to most, is opening a brand new online shop tonight at 7pm London time right herecalled ThreadBear Studio. It combines her amazing talent as a crafty lady with my illustrative talent to produce the most beautifully made cushions, purses, bags and more!

Custom Bambaboss : Mr Jones

'Mr Jones' is a recent commission piece for the lovely Dave which happens to be my first 3A toy I've had the pleasure to paint. He was loads of fun to work on and I'm so happy with his underwater theme and colours. Hopefully this will pave the way for more 3A customs in the future. Robobees and an exciting new line..

Thanks so much to all who bought a Robobee! These gorgeous little bees were beautifully cast in resin by my close friend and super talented artist Cris Rose and then lovingly painted up by me. Series 2 will be hitting the store in May, keep your eyes peeled!

Pontos - The Ocean King : Custom Paw

Hi all,

My most recent commission a custom Paw, this is 1/1 handpainted (Not for sale)

Story: Pontos is the ruler of all the ocean and all the creatures within. An aggressive and sometime brutal king, Pontos' mood can be foretold by the actions of the waves - when all is calm Pontos is in good spirits, but when the waves are crashing and whirlpools erupt, all the sea creatures know to stay clear. Pontos has 3 guards who protect him day and night, the Octopi - Clio, Xantho and Opis. Xantho has the very special job of guarding Pontos' heart to ensure that the king can rule for eternity.

Custom Sketchbot : 'Kauket'

For the Sketchbot Custom 2 show at Munky King LA! I went for a king of the lizards type character with this one, I wanted to find an interesting way to use the arms and i didn't want to go down the robot route or a character in a robot suit. NUSHKU: The back story...
Nushku is the Fiery volcano God of the Kiki Booshka tribe, feared by all far and wide for his terrible temper and rash use of his powers. Nushku was once a normal young monster who lived happily amongst his tribe in the north west of Booshka until he discovered he had a very special talent. He discovered he could make fire with his bare hands. When word spread throughout the village about Nushku's new found power the tribe were scared and thought perhaps he was part demon. A meeting was held with the tribal elders who decided the only way to ensure the safety of the tribe was to extinguish the life of Nushku. It was decided Nushku would be thrown into the fiery pit of the Booshka volcano in order to please the fire gods and prevent him from hurting any other tribe members. On the day of the sacrifice, the tribe gathered round and chanted songs to the fire gods as they cast Nushku into the volcano. However, this displeased the fire gods greatly as Nushku has done nothing wrong and in turn they bestowed upon Nushku the powers of a volcano god. Now the tribal elders desperately try and keep Nushku happy with offerings to prevent his fiery temper from detroying all of Booshka.

I had a great time at the Iksentrik show and met lots of fab people including the lovely Laura (Indescribble) and Ryan (Iksentrik's awesome owner) as well as getting to view all the other knucklebear customs in the flesh which were all breathtaking. It also made me very much want to move to Bath, such a beautiful place! Please check out the other Knucklebear customs too by Lunartik, Indescribble, Cris Rose, Jon Paul Kaiser, Triclops & Sour bones, they are all fab, I felt honoured to have my work amongst them, you can buy them here!

Introducing Aracnea my first 7" custom munny - Aracnea's black heart hangs by the thread of a spider. Aracnea's job is to care for the spiders of the world but also control them. When the spiders numbers become too great he must extinguish their life causing black tears to fall from his dark, shining eyes.

Baby Panda Treeson!

New art for my walls!

Just a quick post to share the most fabulous artwork i have just hung on my walls as my custom frames arrived yesterday!

The first is one of my favorite artists, Caia Koopman with Lepidoptera's Locket. I have wanted this ever since I saw the painting on Caia's website and when she realeased the print I was the first to buy it! Caia sent me number 1 of 50! So happy! Check out her beautiful art here: Caia Koopman This is just such a beautiful image I am head over heels in love with it and have hung it right above my desk where I spend most of my time. :)

The second print is by another of my fave artists, the awesome super pow fabulous 64 Colors. I adore Marshall so just had to have this print. I chose a lovely weathered frame to reflect the feel of the print and think it looks fab! Go check out their fab stuffs here: 64 Colors

What a day! My Midnight Masquerade series sold out in 15 minutes! I am so so happy right now despite yet another thunderous headache i have a huge smile on my face! I have just packaged them all up ready to make their way to Bradford, Brighton, San Francisco, Calgary and California! Thanks so much to all tho purchased one and all who tweeted and blogged about them i am very grateful!

I also want to say a huge thankyou to all the people who sent me get well presents after my recent scary experience. It really has cheered me up so much after a very scary time. A recent appointment with the consultant confirmed that both my lungs are badly affected by the clots but i am on the right meds now and hope to be better soon. I am already feeling more myself though very tired so i'm sure thats a sign i'm improving and will be fit and well very soon!

Thanks so much from the bottom of my heart for all your support and get well wishes it really means a lot.

Custom Dink

After many many hours work (we're talking weeks lol) Dink is finally finished. She was hard work but in the end so worth it as her owner is delighted with her which makes me a happy bunny. There were over 80 unique flowers and countless raindrops all over the hair area which were probably the most time consuming parts as each flower and butterfly were given two coats of paint to help the colours really pop!

I hope you enjoy looking at these pics of her and would love to hear your comments and thoughts.

This morning I was woken by the postman to my gorgeous set of Wish Come True cuties! I've wanted them so long its so nice to finally have them! ^_^

I also got these beautiful postcards i ordered from Courtney Brims a truly wonderful artist, i am going to buy The Little Mermaid print soon.

Lunabee: a timeline

I thought it was about time I set up a blog to post up piccies of my customs and details of giveaways and such, so here it is. First things first I am going to post up all my customs to date right here as kind of a timeline of my work :)

My very first custom. Me and Cris sat down one day and he forced me to give painting a try, after much protestingof 'i cant do it, i'll be rubbish' etc i gave it a go and voila:

Next up came this tiny guy, a present off Cris for me to practice on:

Two more Qees later than I decided to give a Dunny a shot:

I then moved onto Mini Munnies, how i love you Mini Munnies!

And then finally decided I had made one good enough to sell, and it did in the space of ten minutes! Meet Matojo:

I decided to keep the tribal theme running with the 'Ki-ki Booshka tribe' and created Goredema The Storm Maker, each tribe member having their own little bio and back story:

The tribe theme led onto Chief Kijani who was my most popular munny to date and sold out super fast!

I was spotted by the fantastic Drilone who asked me to participate in the SF show ' Into the Darkness' at 1am Gallery and thus came about my first show piece 'DAMU: The darkest heart' My first custom MadL which sold on the gallery opening night:

After Damu came my very first custom commission a pink themed mini munny who is still one of my personal favorites to date:

Then came my 2nd MadL and 2nd Dunny in the form of this Flutterface Duo which sold out instantly:

I fancied trying a different figure and with my love for bunnies a labbit seemed like the perfect choice, Nightshade was created and sold on my store:

Then it was back to mini munnies with this custom 'Sweet Dreams' another instant seller, hurrah!

Then one of my trickiest customs to date was a custom Arkski set 'Vela, Lumo & Baby Mino' bought by a lovely lady in sunny California. It amazes me to think pieces of my artwork are now all over the world!

Back to mini munnies again for the next custom in the form of 'Glory' This was the first time I varnished a custom and was so pleased with the result:

I felt I had been given so much support from the fabulous toy community, in particular Twitter and the KR forums that I wanted to give something back. It was approaching my 26th Birthday (June this year) and tied it in with that as a birthday giveaway in the form of this fab Qee by Toy2R. In a name out of the hat competition and with over 100 entrants, the brilliant Andy from TRE blog won this custom named 'Yooku' :

Another custom commisison cropped up for a lovely lady in New Zealand! I created this butterfly themed duo of mini munny and dunny and she was thrilled with them ^_^

Thanks to Drilone again I was asked to participate in the Vimobot custom show at SDCC this year, so very exciting! Here were my three customs 'Shaman, Tor and Nimbus' :

For my third show piece I was contacted by a great guy, Ryan from IKSentrik for the Frome festival,, my piece sold via the online web store. I decided to paint up another labbit as i so enjoyed the last one and had another experiment with contrasting fades on the base colour. This cutie was named 'Carnival'

Another custom cutie for the shop with a bit less evil than normal! Meet Ina and the rain dove:

My 4th show piece here, was a Robolucha custom for the Robolucha show curated by VISEone. I swapped the head for a mini munny head as i wanted him to look more like a mini munny in a space suit from the future. I named him Yuma and tied him in with the Ki-Ki Booshka tribe story:

I decided to try my hand at another Vimobot custom as i love the shape of the figure and came up with this little terror, current available on my store 'Hakan the Firemaster'

Which brings us bang up to date with my latest Dunny duo custom commission from a fab guy on the KR forums:

Here's to many more customs! I am now creating custom vinyl full time along with my freelance design work and have some very exciting things in the pipeline for the end of 2009 - 2010. Thanks to everyone who has supported me, bought a custom or just made a nice comment about one of my customs it really does give me a boost!
